Trope Flash: Always Save the Girl: Chuck's attitude when Sarah's captured.

Chekhov's Skill: Subverted. Chuck tries to repeat Morgan's failed attempt to pull a tablecloth out from under a stack of stuff and manages to pull it off perfectly.
Crash Course Landing: Chuck is forced to have to land the helicopter he's on after the pilot gets knocked out. He succeeds, albeit with Sarah's help via cellphone.
Enter Stage Window: Morgan does this to get into Chuck's house, much to Ellie's annoyance.Ellie: How did you get in here? Morgan: Chuck's window, or as I like to call it, the 'Morgan Door'.
Falling into the Cockpit: The climax of the episode has Chuck being forced to pilot a Helicopter, with Sarah and Casey giving guidance via a cellphone. Interestingly, when Casey first tries to guide him through using technical terms, Chuck is completely lost. Then Sarah steps in and tells him to pretend it's a video game and he succeeds.
Felony Misdemeanor: The show starts with Casey chasing down and nearly beating up... a shoplifter.
I Know Mortal Kombat: Chuck flying the helicopter is half-knowledge of an Apache chopper game and half Sarah convincing him that that's the best way to think about it.

In 1980, cameraman Robert Van Der Kar was killed while filming an episode of Magnum P.I. when the low-flying helicopter he was riding in crashed into the Pacific Ocean off of Hawaii. The pilot, Robert Sanders, was injured and his license was suspended for 90 days by the National Transportation Safety Board. That same year, legendary Indian action star Jayan was killed on a movie set while attempting to transfer from a speeding motorcycle to the skids of a low-flying helicopter that crashed on top of him. In this episode of The Spear, Chief Warrant Officer 5 Joe Roland joins to share a story from 2004. A decorated helicopter pilot with thousands of hours flying the UH-60 Black Hawk, he was part of the 25th Combat Aviation Brigade when the unit deployed to Afghanistan in 2004.
